Society information

Indian Ceramic Society , a non-profit organization, was established in 1928.

During the last 95 years, the Society has grown from strength to strength under the leadership of several leading educationists, scientists, technologists and industrialists who served the Society in different capacities.

In 1941 the Society started publishing Transactions of the Indian Ceramic Society, an academic journal devoted to latest research, technology and industry-related news on glass and ceramics. The journal deals with subjects like chemical, mechanical, optical, electronic and spectroscopic properties of glass and ceramics, and characterization of materials belonging to this family.

Every journal depends on the hard work of its reviewers. To acknowledge their efforts, Transactions of the Indian Ceramic Society provides:

  • Certificate of appreciation to each reviewer
  • One-month complimentary online access to the journal
  • Citation for ‘Best Reviewer Award’ in the Annual Session of the Society (for maximum number of timely reviews)
  • Recognition to the top reviewer every quarter by publication of their photograph and affiliation in the journal
  • Free registration for the Annual Session of the Society upon completion of 5 reviews in a year.
