Acknowledgements

A project like this could not be carried out without the support and participation of many people. We would like to extend our warmest thanks to the following people and institutions:

  • – First and foremost to UniLaSalle, for its active participation in the project, and in particular to Richard Gattin, Amir Shehzad, and Yousra Zerarka for their indispensable work; to the Director, Karine Laval, and manager Nathalie Leblanc;

  • – To my colleagues at Métropole Rouen Normandie, and particularly at RMM: Robert Blaizeau, Director, and Murielle Grazzini, Administrator, for their unfailing support and their assistance with the project; Mathilde Schneider, director of the Musée Beauvoisine, and the registrars (Margot Pilate, Laurence Lyncée, Alice Cousin), and to the Development and Economic Transition Department and the Legal Department;

  • – To the Direction Régionale des Affaires Culturelles (DRAC) de Normandie, through our museum advisor Véronique Notin, who keeps a watchful and sympathetic eye on our projects.

  • – To the Normandy region, for its interest and active support in developing the project;

  • – To our project partners, and in particular Sandie Le Conte (INP) who, in addition to assisting with vibration testing, offered generous advice on managing a scientific and museum project, and to Fabien Fohrer (CICRP), whose involvement in the project simply made it possible;

  • – To the artwork transporters Christophe Piette and Valérie Bonard at A. Chenue SA and Sébastien Giguière at Cadre en Seine, for their interest in and critical analysis of the project;

  • – Finally, to our colleagues from various museums: Hélène Vassal (Louvre, ICOM France), Florence Bertin (MAD), Eléonore Kissel, Vincent Saporito and Sarah Puech (MQB), and Ludovic Chauwin (Strasbourg Museums), for all the fruitful and friendly discussions, and for the invaluable experience they were willing to share on the subject.

  • – For this article, and their high-quality editing work, Alice Guillard and Courtney Traub at ICOM.
