2023 Reviewers of the Year

ORCID Icon, ORCID Icon & ORCID Icon

It is important, as Editors of a journal, to take the time and recognize the outstanding contributions of those that help a journal to function. The role of an Editor is to act as a decision maker, to curate content and help to advance scientific discourse. This is not an easy task, and it is not one that can be done without assistance. This purpose of this note is to provide a statement of our gratitude for our reviewers from the past year, our Editorial Board, and to specifically recognize five exceptional Editorial Board members, who went above and beyond this year, with their quality and timeliness of reviews. Those individuals are:

Amy J. L. Baker received her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from the Teachers College of Columbia University and currently serves as the Director of Research for the Vincent J. Fontana Center for Child Protection. Lawrence H. Ganong received his Ph.D. in Family Studies from the University of Missouri-Columbia and is the Chancellor’s Professor and Emeritus Professor from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Patricia L. Papernow received her Ed.D. in Counseling Psychology from Boston University School of Education. She operates a private practice out of Massachusetts and serves as the Director of the Institute for Stepfamily Education. Raymond E. Petren received his Ph.D. in Family Relationships from Florida State University and is currently an Associate Professor at Pennsylvania State University Scranton. Richard Warshak received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and currently operates a private practice. We are lucky to have such distinguished and dedicated Reviewers of the Year, each of whom has demonstrated for us the importance and value of quality peer-review by such esteemed and dedicated scholars.

We sincerely thank our reviewers of the year for 2023, all reviewers for Journal of Divorce & Remarriage in 2023, and our esteemed Editorial Board that will continue to provide guidance and diligent service to Family Transitions in 2024 and beyond.
