Aims and scope

The Journal of Oral Microbiology publishes open access original research on ‘oral health’ and oral infectious diseases.

The Journal of Oral Microbiology aims to be an influential source of knowledge on the aetiological agents behind oral infectious diseases. The journal is an international forum for original research on all aspects of ‘oral health’. Articles which seek to understand ‘oral health’ through the exploration of pathogenesis, virulence, host-parasite interactions, and immunology of oral infections are of particular interest. The journal also welcomes manuscripts that address the global agenda of oral infectious diseases, present new strategies for treatment and prevention, or improvements to existing strategies.

The Journal of Oral Microbiology publishes Original articles, Review articles, Systematic Review, Brief Report, Case Report, Letter to the Editor, Editorial, Discussion (Perspectives), Data Notes, and Methods.

The Journal of Oral Microbiology operates a double anonymized peer review policy.

All articles will be made freely and permanently available online through gold open access publication.
