Editor-in-Chief:

Robert M. Guthrie, MD is Professor Emeritus of Emergency Medicine at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. He began his career at Ohio State in 1982 after working in private practice and community hospital education. At Ohio State, Dr. Guthrie was the Family Medicine Residency Director from 1983-1990. He joined the department of Emergency Medicine at Ohio State in 1992, where he conducted a very successful research program focusing on the development of new medications to treat Diabetes, Hypertension, Cholesterol, and other medical problems. During that time, he conducted over 75 funded research projects. Dr. Guthrie was promoted to Professor of Emergency Medicine at Ohio State in 1999.

In his career at Ohio State, Dr. Guthrie has published 76 peer reviewed manuscripts covering a wide variety of medical issues. He has also published over 150 abstracts, presented papers, and editor accepted papers. He has written one book, Hypertension and Dyslipidemia Management Essentials, published in 2009.

Dr Guthrie has been a very successful national medical education lecturer. He has presented nearly 1000 programs over a number of medical topics including Diabetes, Hyperlipidemia, Hypertension, and others. He has lectured in 36 US states and has presented international programs in Canada, Germany, Italy, and Sweden. Dr Guthrie was a regular monthly guest on local public radio broadcast in Columbus for nearly 25 years, and was a regular guest on a nationally syndicated radio program for six years. Dr Guthrie has served on numerous national CME programs and national advisory panels.
