DEFINITION & PHILOSOPHY
Mapping Sciences are those disciplines that deal with acquisition, management and communication of geospatial information.
The Institute promotes the theory, practice and understanding of all facets of the mapping sciences through the collegiate strength and expertise of its members.
Membership is open to all persons actively engaged in the mapping sciences. Corporate Membership is gained by examination or by equivalent qualifications and experience.

The Geospatial Council of Australia is the peak body representing the interests of organisations and individuals, including new and emerging professionals working in the vast range of occupations for surveying, space and spatial in the digital world
