Abstract

A methanol extract of the flowers of Gnaphalium stramineum showed significant anti-inflammatory activity. Caffeoylquinic acid derivatives and flavonol glycosides were isolated as the compounds responsible for this activity through fractionation of this extract monitored by the carrageenan-induced edema test in rat paw.
