Academic Snobbery and the Prospects for Heterodox Economics

 

Abstract

How healthy is heterodox economics? As contributions to an answer, this article provides bibliometric evidence about its current status in universities of varying ranks. It also offers Veblenian insights into publishing by professors. On these bases, it suggests plausible ways for heterodox economics to improve upon its standing, based on its topical and ethical advantages.
