Abstract

In our research described here, for the first time, the influence of a soft inclusion of nanocellulose on the properties of dimethylammonium aluminum sulfate hexahydrate was investigated. For comparison, a harder inclusion of silicon dioxide nanoparticles was also used to combine with the dimethylammonium aluminum sulfate hexahydrate. The analyses of data for fresh samples of the composites revealed many similar anomalies created by the influences of the cellulose and silicon dioxide, including an increase in phase transition temperature, an anomalous relaxation and polarization switching. However, over time, the anomalous properties were not stable in the case of the samples containing nanocellulose, which, we suggest, was associated with the softness of the cellulose.
