Isolation of Microsporum cookei from a human case

Abstract

A case of ringworm due to Microsporum cookei in a 20-months-old child is described. This is the first recorded isolation of this dermatophyte from a human host in Australia.

Es wird über die Beobachtung einer durch Microsporum cookei verursachten Dermatomykose bei einem 20 Monate alten Kind berichtet. Dieser Dermatophyt wurde damit zum ersten Male in Australien als menschlicher Krankheitserreger festgestellt.
