Abstract
1) An unusual ninhydrin-positive compound was found in urines from 6 cases of functional neural tumors with help of high voldtage paper electrophoresis combined with ascending paper chromatography.
2) The compound was tentiatively identified as cystathionine.
3) It is assumed that the cystathioninuria originates from tumor tissue.
4) The amount of cystathionine excreted seems to be proportional to the malignancy of the tumor.
