Abstract

The synthesis of a new unsymmetrical Schiff-base porphyrin is reported from 5-(p-nitrophenyl)-10, 15, 20-triphenyl porphyrin and o-nitro benzaldehyde. Its lanthanide complexes are also reported. The ligand and its lanthanide complexes are characterized by UV, IR and ¹H NMR spectra.
