Solvent-free synthesis of 14-aryl-14H-dibenzo[a-j]xanthenes using Fe3O4@Al2O3@SiO2@Fe2O3 as a green catalyst

Abstract

We report, a novel, green, nano-sized particles as a sandwich nano-capsule multilayer catalyst (SNC@MC) [Fe3O4@Al2O3@SiO2@Fe2O3] for the efficacious one-pot synthesis of 14-aryl-14H- dibenzo[a-j]xanthenes in high yields, under mild and solvent-free conditions at room temperature. The catalyst structure characterized by using various analytical techniques such as SEM, EDS, FT-IR, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and UV-visible spectroscopy. Environmentally friendly, availability, high catalytic activity, high efficiency, mild reaction conditions and ease of separation are the main reasons in using this green sandwich nano-capsule multilayer catalyst.
