One-Pot, Three-Component Synthesis of Cis-Isoquinolonic Acids Using ZnCl₂, AlCl₃-SiO₂ as Catalyst

Abstract

ZnCl₂, AlCl₃-SiO₂ catalyzes efficiently the three-component condensation reaction of aldehydes, amines, and homophthalic anhydride in dichloromethane to afford the corresponding cis-isoquinolonic acids in good yields at room temperature.
