Abstract
The sensitized photolysis of cis-cis-1,3-cyclooctadiene yields bicyclo [4.2.0]octene-7 (1), efficiently and in good yield.1 We have found that 1 may be converted very simply into 1-vinylcyclohexene (3) 2 via bicyclo [4.2.0] octene-8 (2).
