Abstract

Continuing our studies of the reactions between Grignard reagents and functionally substituted alkynes (1) (2), we observed a regiospecific addition of organomagnesium compounds to metalated propargylic alcohols. This reaction is catalysed by CuI and yields geminal vinylic di-Grignard reagents.
