Pyridinium Chlorochromate-Mediated Allylic and Benzylic Oxidation

Abstract

Pyridinium chlorochromate, in refluxing methylene chloride, has been found to be an effective reagent for allylic and benzylic oxidations of activated methylene groups to yield the corresponding unsaturated ketones.
