A Convenient Preparation of Hex-5,6-enopyranosides

Abstract

Hex 5,6-enopyranosides were conveniently prepared from 6-halo-hexopyranosides by treatment with sodium hydride in dimethylformamide. Simultaneous benzylation of free hydroxyl groups can be achieved.
