Tin Effects in the Hydroboration of Hindered Olefins

Abstract

Intermolecular hydroboration of tetrasubstituted olefins is enhanced by allylic tin substituents. Intramolecular hydroboration using hindered allylic tin substrates is found to be inefficient presumably due to the steric bulk of the trialkylstannane group.
