Synthesis of N-12-Hydrpxy-9-cis-octadecenoyl L-leucine and -L-leucine-L-leucine

Abstract

C-Terminal protected L-leucine and L-leucine-L-leucine were reacted with O-THP protected D(+)-12-hydroxy-9-cis-octadecenoic acid (ricinoleic) anhydride in the presence of DMAP to yield N-ricinoleoyl L-leucine and -L-leucine-L-leucine, respectively. Both compounds showed good surfactant properties and inhibited gram positive bacteria.
