The Synthesis of Biphenyl Amino Acids and Related 2,3- Dihydroimidazo[1,2-a]dibenz[c,e]azepines

Abstract

The synthesis of biphenyl amino acids, designed as potential metabotropic glutamate receptor ligands, is described. Some unexpected tricyclic intermediates were characterised and one such intermediate was further transformed into the related 2,3-dihydroimidazo[1,2-a]dibenz[c,e] azepines.
