Abstract

Studies on the practical method for trapping enolates generated from enone with organocopper reagent have been described. Instead of carcinogenic hexamethylphosphoric triamide (HMPA), N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) has been found to be an effective additive for trapping the enolate.
