Abstract
Calix[4]arenes 1a and 1b reacted with acid chlorides at room temperature in the presence of triethylamine to give the selectively diametrical diesterified products 2 in good to excellent yields. While at the same reaction conditions, calix[8]arenes 3a and 3b gave the fully esterified products 4.
