A Convenient Synthesis Of Isopropyl Ethers from Secondary Alcohols

Abstract

A convenient synthesis of isopropyl ethers from the corresponding secondary alcohols has been developed, involving acetate formation, conversion to the enol ether via an organotitanium reagent, and subsequent catalytic hydrogenation to the isopropyl ether.
