Abstract

Abstract: The synthesis of the indolo[2,3-a]carbazole ring is described starting from 3-chloromethylene-1,3-dihydro-indol-2-one 5 and 3-(cyano-ethoxycarbonyl-methyl)-indole-1-carboxylic acid ethyl ester 4.
