Synthesis of Novel Squarylium Cyclophanes

Abstract

A series of novel squarylium cyclophanes containing one or two diaminosquaraine units have been synthesized by direct condensation of squaric acid and corresponding diamines in highly diluted n-butanol-toluene solutions.
