Synthesis of Carbazoles from O-Cyclohex-2-enyl-anilines.^#

Abstract

Several carbazoles (4a-f) have been synthesised from o-cyclohex-2-enylanilines by treatment with pyridine hydrotribromide in methylene chloride at 0–5 °C for 2 h followed by refluxing with Pd-C in diphenyl ether for 1 h.
