Synthesis and Reactions of 7- Substituted Furo-[3,4-b] pyfudine-5-one

Abstract

A new synthesis of 7- substituted fur0 3.4 - b] pyridine-5-one (2–8) based on the reaction of quinolinic acid anhydride (1) with different active methylene compounds in presence of acetic anhydride and freshly fused sodium acetate is described. Structures of the compounds are established by chemical and spectral data.
