Abstract

Grignard reagents (RMgX) were prepared from RX (X=Cl,Br) using the mixture of BrCH2CH₂Br and I₂ as an initiator in anhydrous solvent such as THF or ether. The rate of preparing Grignard reagent was increased because of using the mixture of BrCH₂CH₂Br and I₂ as an initiator.
