Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates: lessons learned in a high-stakes, high-volume medical performance examination

Abstract

The Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates has been conducting a high-stakes, high-volume Clinical Skills Assessment for over one year and has assessed several thousand candidates. In the process, a great deal has been learned about the demands of testing in such a demanding environment.These lessons may be of benefit to those embarking on similar assessment programs.
