Review on performance analysis in diffusion absorption refrigeration system (DARS) using different working fluids

Abstract

Nowadays, refrigeration performance enhancement with the minimisation of emission gases is challenging. Several Researchers are used eco-friendly working fluids and waste heat from different processes to solve such issues. This study reviews different technologies used to enhance the performance of Diffusion Absorption Refrigeration systems (DARS). A detailed review of DARS vapour absorption techniques and future scope are discussed. The discussion about the modification, i.e. geometrical modification in the refrigeration system, hybrid working fluids, nano-particle added fluids, ionic liquid working fluids, and different optimisation techniques, are discussed and tabulated. According to trend analysis, computer intelligence-based optimisation techniques are more commonly employed in vapour compression refrigeration than the DAR system. Besides, the Refrigeration system consumes 17% of electric energy, resulting in environmental issues, global warming, etc. However, the researchers are focused on enhancing the refrigeration performances such as Coefficient of performance (COP), Exergy, colling capacity, etc., rather than minimising the cost and energy consumption rate.
