Abstract

Short-term rescheduling of microgrids is suggested to minimise the operating cost in the presence of electric vehicles and distributed energy resources. The model considered the uncertainties of load, wind, and solar. The problem is modelled as a single-objective problem, which minimises the operating costs of microgrids by considering the technical specifications of the distribution network. The grasshoppers’ optimisation is employed to solve problem. By applying the methodology, the optimal charging/discharging pattern of electric vehicles and DERs generation has been achieved. A significant reduction has been obtained in the microgrids operating costs. A comparison through the various algorithms has been implemented to show the effeteness of the GOA over the other recent algorithms. The efficiency of the approach has been studied on the modified IEEE 85-bus distribution system. The amount of active power loss has been reduced to 5.62% as well as minimum voltage profile has been achieved to 0.9489 p.u.
