Caesarean section, NICE Guidelines and management of labour

Abstract

‘I would be grateful for your opinion of this woman who finds herself pregnant, 8 – 10 weeks. She has had two children and remembers that each labour was long and extremely distressful and painful. So much so that she would definitely have a termination of pregnancy unless she has a caesarean section’ (GP referral letter, July 2003).
