Abstract

We present the case of a 60-year-old hypertensive and HBsAg positive female who developed herpes zoster ophthalmicus preceded by orbital cellulitis and severe headaches and complicated by orbital myositis and optic perineuritis. She was otherwise healthy and immunocompetent. Each of the parameters of the clinical picture has been reported before in isolation and not only in cases of varicella-zoster infection. We describe her clinical course and management and we emphasize the fact that no similar case was previously described.
