Further Biochemical Studies on Male and Female Mice Some Months after Total-body X-irradiation

Pages 467-473 | Received 05 May 1960, Published online: 03 Jul 2009

Summary

High doses of total-body x-irradiation produced a decrease in the fat content of the skin of female CBA mice examined some months after the exposure. The weights of the heart and kidneys were not different from the unexposed controls. The irradiation brought about a permanent depression in DNA-synthesis relative to RNA in the kidneys of both sexes.
