Summary

DNA-synthesis in vitro was studied in cells after exposure to x- or fast-neutron irradiation. The measure was the incorporation into DNA of ¹⁴C-thymidine by Ehrlich ascites cells and of ¹⁴C-thymidine or ¹⁴C-formate by human bone-marrow cells. The radiation response is biphasic, dependent on oxygen, and is similar for both systems.
