Summary

The urinary excretion of 5-hydroxyindolacetic acid after whole-body x-irradiation (800 r) in normal and adrenalectomized rats was studied. After x-irradiation a significant but transient increase of 5-hydroxyindolacetic acid in urine in both groups of animals was found. The results obtained are discussed.
