Summary
High-leukaemia-strain AKR mice were used to investigate the influence of low dose x-irradiation during pregnancy on the expression of leukaemia in the progeny.
No shortening of the latent period to death from leukaemia, or increased incidence of the disease, was found. In the males, however, there was a trend towards a reduction of incidence and a lengthening of time to death from leukaemia. These results are discussed in relation to the known importance of the thymus in the leukaemogenic process.
