Summary

The study of the temperature dependence of radiation-induced free-radical destruction in N-acetyl-DL-valine has led to the conclusion that at least two processes are involved. One process is temperature-independent with a rate constant of 0·07 MR−1. The second process has a temperature-dependent rate constant, and kinetic analysis yields an activation energy of 0·71 kcal/mole.
