Summary
The influence of visible light on the lethal and the mutagenic effects of gamma-radiation on E. coli WP2 uvrA+ and E. coli WP2 uvrA cells was studied. It was shown that visible light appears to reduce the yield of gamma-induced prototrophs in E. coli WP2 uvrA cells while the yield of prototrophys in E. coli WP2 uvrA+ stays unchanged. Visible light did not change the survival of gamma-irradiated cells.
