Identifying the support needs of people with dementia and older people with mental illness on a Joint Community Team: A preliminary report

Abstract

A prelim inary study of the client group served by a multidisciplinary team for older people with mental illness revealed that firm diagnosis and low levels of social support were two variables that were consistently associated with high need. To investigate this further, the informal support networks were studied using Wenger's Network Typology Instrument. There are direct implications of network type for service provision.
