Pages 409-415 | Published online: 10 Jul 2009

Abstract

This article examines the increasing interconnections between drugs, crime, punishment and treatment since the publication of the 1995 national drugs strategy, Tackling Drugs Together. It explores the growing merger between drug treatment and the criminal justice system and the ways in which the ‘drugs problem’ is being framed and managed as a ‘crime problem’.
