Pages 397-404 | Published online: 06 Jul 2009

Abstract

This paper reports the background to and the development and evaluation of a project to introduce critical appraisal skills to social services staff across the south and south-west of England. This work was commissioned by the Centre for Evidence-Based Social Services and used the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme [CASP] methods widely employed within health care services. The different research methodologies and their use in health and social services are also discussed.
