Kelvin MacDonald

Bishwapriya Sanyal
Bish Sanyal is a Ford International Professor of Urban Development and Planning and Director of the Special Program in Urban and Regional Studies (SPURS)/Humphrey Fellows Program at MIT. Professor Sanyal joined MIT in 1984, served as the Head of the Department of Urban Studies and Planning from 1994 to 2002 and was the Chair of the Faculty at MIT from 2007 to 2009. Professor Sanyal has degrees in Architecture and City Planning, and his interests include the interconnection between the developing world and the USA, and international planning education.
Mitchell Silver
Mitchell Silver is past president of the American Planning Association (APA) and currently the Chief Planning and Development Officer and Planning Director for Raleigh, North Carolina. Mitchell is an award-winning planner with over 28 years of experience. He specializes in comprehensive planning, place-making and implementation strategies. Mitchell previously worked as policy and planning director in New York City, a principal of a New York City-based planning firm, a town manager in New Jersey, and deputy planning director in Washington, DC.
Mee Kam Ng
Professor Mee Kam Ng is Vice-Chairman of the Department of Geography and Resource Management and Director of the Urban Studies Programme at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), a fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Planners (HKIP) and a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design. Her publications have earned her six Hong Kong Institute of Planners’ Awards.
Peter Head
Peter Head OBE is a champion of sustainable development. He established the Ecological Sequestration Trust in 2011 where he is currently Executive Director. Peter is a civil and structural engineer and a recognized world leader in major bridges, advanced composite technology and now in sustainable development in cities and regions. He has won many awards for his work including the Award of Merit of the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering, the Royal Academy of Engineering's Silver Medal and the Prince Philip Award for Polymers in the Service of Mankind.
Katie Williams
Katie Williams is an urban theorist, planner and urban designer, and Director of the Centre for Sustainable Planning and Environments at the University of the West of England. She specialises in sustainable urban environments and is known for her work on sustainable neighbourhood design (in relation to sustainable behaviours and climate change adaptation), urban form (compact cities) and land reuse. Katie has authored over 100 academic papers and reports and edited three books on sustainable urbanism.
Vanessa Watson
Vanessa Watson is Programme Convenor in the School of Architecture, Planning and Geomatics at the University of Cape Town as well as Executive committee member of the African Centre for Cities and co-chair of the Association of African Planning Schools.
Heather Campbell
Heather Campbell is Senior Editor of Planning Theory & Practice. She is Professor of Town and Regional Planning and Professorial Consultant on Strategic Initiatives to the Vice Chancellor at the University of Sheffield. Her recent research and publications have focused on ethics, social (and spatial) justice, the public interest and the relationship between knowledge and action.
