Synthesis and antibacterial activity of some 5-(4-biphenylyl)-7-Aryl[3,4-d]-1,2,3-benzoselenadiazoles

Abstract

A new series of 5-(4-biphenylyl)-7-aryl[3,4-d]-1,2,3-benzoselenadiazoles were prepared, characterized by elemental analysis, ¹H NMR and ¹³C NMR spectral studies, and tested for antibacterial activities. The compounds were very effective against the tested Gram-positive bacteria; 7b was the most effective compound.
