Abstract
Medical Services and Warfare is a subscription-based web database published by Adam Matthew Digital that contains digitized historical documents, such as biographies, essays, medical records, charts, and maps that pertain to major wars throughout the centuries. This includes the Crimean War, American Civil War, and other conflicts. The information covered within this platform’s period date ranges from 1850 to 1949. These materials give a front line view of how the battlefield, and its casualties, helped shape modern medicine through medical developments, such as anesthesia, prosthetics, antibiotics, and hygiene and sanitation. This review will assess the layout of the database, content, help, and searching.
