ABSTRACT
This article aims to estimate the population ratio using a multistage median ranked set sampling method. The mean squared errors and bias equations of the suggested estimators are obtained. The new estimators are compared with their counterparts using simple random sampling, ranked set sampling, and median ranked set sampling methods. A real data set is used for illustration. The results revealed that the multistage median ranked set sampling estimators are approximately unbiased in terms of the population ratio and their efficiencies increase in the number of stages for specific value of the sample size. Also, it is found that the multistage median ranked set sampling estimators are more efficient than their counterparts based on simple random sampling, ranked set sampling, and median ranked set sampling.
