Abstract

Nucleophelic substitution of dialkyl (E)-2-bromomethylene glutarates 2 by magnesium dialkyl cuprates generated in situ provided a regio and highly stereoselective methodology for the synthesis of dialkyl 2-alkylidene glutarates 3 in good yields.
