Single-Dose Treatment with Tinidazole: Progress in the Therapy of Trichomoniasis

, M.D.
Pages 138-141 | Received 07 Feb 1974, Published online: 04 Aug 2008

Summary

The results of a single-dose treatment with 2 g. tinidazole in 50 female patients with vaginal trichomoniasis infection are reported. In 49 patients, the trichomonads were completely eradicated after the single-dose treatment. Only minor side-effects occurred. As the average patient has only a limited understanding and tolerance for extended treatment courses with abstinence from alcohol and sexual intercourse, the advantages of a single-dose treatment of both partners are self-evident.
