Summary
Early cures were obtained in 14 out of 15 female patients with trichomoniasis who were treated with 2 g. tinidazole given during one day (either as a single or as two doses). The infection in the 1 patient who failed to respond to tinidazole was also resistant to metronidazole.
In this study, 2 cases had a re-infection as their sexual partners did not receive simultaneous therapy. No recurrence or re-infection was observed in the married patients whose husbands were treated simultaneously.
The tolerance was good in both the male and female patients.
